part-time Homeschool program for Elementary Students

The Part Time Homeschool Program is currently full for the 3rd Trimester of 2017.  Contact us if you would like to be placed on our waitlist, or if you are interested in attending part time in Fall of 2017.

New in  2017!

Part time program is available once again for students ages 8 – 10 years. We invite your student to join our learning community two days per week, drug Monday and Friday.

Our elementary class currently is welcoming new part-time homeschoolers for our 2nd and 3rd trimesters.

January 6 – March 10, 2017 Trimester 2
March 24 – June 2,  2017 Trimester 3

14 class days per trimester


Each trimester concludes with a Community Celebration of Learning, our Student Showcase. All students, parents and families are invited to join us.

(Student Showcase June 13 6:30 – 8pm)

This class welcomes students learning at levels from 2nd – 5th grade. Support is available for students with Dyslexia. Support and additional opportunities are available for more advanced students. We prefer students who can read or who are well on their way to it.

Our schedule on Mondays and Fridays focuses on fun, hands-on, group and collaborative learning.

Drop-off 8:15 – 8:40.
School Day Starts 8:45
Lunch/Recess 11:45-12:45
either 2:45 or 3:10pm.



Chess Class: Beginning to intermediate instruction and matched game play, with coaching and strategy development available as desired.
Physical Education: Active group games and sports
Math: Games, puzzles and challenges
Science: including crazy concoctions and magnificent machines
Character Education: including respect, cooperation, communication, problem-solving,
Programming & Logic: Computer programming games and challenges, instruction, group work, logic games, non-digital logic and coding activities.
Writing Workshop: Creative writing with prompts, and focus on the activity of writing (details and mechanics can come later, after a love and habit of writing has become established). Group work opportunities as well as sharing/ reading in community formats available as individual students are ready.

Outdoor play each day, please be prepared for to be outdoors in winter weather.

You are responsible for homeschooling reporting and for covering subject material as outlined in your IHIP. Assistance available for including work done at The Birch School in your quarterly reports.

Families are responsible for providing notebooks, pencils, paper, as needed.

on Mondays private guitar or ukulele lessons are available by arrangement. Professional music teacher.
(Additional cost = $20 per lesson).
