Whether you are currently in the process of applying to college or you are planning to in the future, it is never too early to begin the process of writing your college admissions essay.

This workshop is designed to demystify the college essay writing process. The 2-hour session offers participants the tools and supports they need to engage in the essay writing process–from brainstorming to editing– in an inclusive and encouraging environment.

INSTRUCTOR:

Holly Spinelli is an advocate for equality in classrooms with specific focuses in anti-racism, anti-bias, and anti-oppression facilitation. Holly began her career as an English teacher, academic adviser, and students’ rights activist in New York City public schools. She is an appointed member of the National Council of Teachers of English’s Committee Against Racism and Bias in the Teaching of English, and she continues to cultivate this work as an adjunct instructor at SUNY Orange County Community College, and as a public high school teacher in the Hudson Valley, New York.   

COST $50 – $125 Pay what you can. The instructor is donating proceeds to The Birch School so your generosity is appreciated. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. If the cost is prohibitive please let us know and we will work to accommodate you.
