Homeschooling Overview for New Homeschoolers (or Anyone interested in the details of how to do it in NYS.)
Learn from our staff and teachers, veteran homeschoolers and experienced educators. This webinar will go over the basic requirements for homeschooling in New York State. We will describe the paperwork and process that is outlined in the regulations.

Our goal is to support those families seeking alternatives and who want to have their children learn outside the conventional school offerings, whether for just this school year or for the duration of their learning experience.

We will give an overview of different approaches to homeschooling, with suggestions for curriculums and resources. A variety of schedules and options for learning will be offered.

Please join us for an informal, supportive presentation with lots of time for questions and answers.

POD Learning: Small Groups in Your Home

A popular approach to learning in a pandemic has been pod groups. These are small groups of children of similar age range, meeting in someone’s home to learn together. There are many advantages to this style of homeschooling, and we want to tell you more.

This past school year Birch successfully supported pod learning. There are many ways to do it, with lots of options for resources.

In this 45 minute presentation we will tell you more about our experience with POD learning. We will give an overview of different ways you can approach it, how to choose a curriculum or learning plan, how to find others to form a group, and more.

Kids learn together in small groups in one of their homes.

Come hear from folks who made this work for them and learn if this could be a good option for your family.

We will offer opportunities to identify other families looking for PODS and assist with pod matching.
